Hi guys...I have possible sad news. My 10 yr old ig went to the vet yesterday and they said he may "possibly" have kidney failure. They began the testing by taking blood and will let me know results of that test tomorrow or Friday. I am so upset. Here are the symptoms he is showing: extreme loss of appetite...if I put the food there he acts interested, takes a couple of bites and that's it. And if he isn't interested then I can put a piece of cheese under his nose and he will then take a few bites of food (odd, I know, but it works!), decrease in BM-he has pooped about 3 times in 2 weeks)...other than that he is very active, alert and responsive. Is there any advice you can give me. Please don't give me the grim side, just any pointers as how to handle this. The vet said that if it is kidney failure he will have to go on a low-protein diet. But I will discuss that with her after she gets the test results back. Thanks...positive responses only as I am very sad about this.
