With mouthrot, you know they have all that bad bacteria in their mouths...they're bound to swallow some, so it can spread throughout their body. When dogs/cats' teeth are cleaned, we put them on antibiotics b/c of the all the bad bacteria we're inadvertently introducing into their system by scraping it off their teeth... seems like it would be the same with a mouth infection in an ig...

: So do they generally get kidney failure from what started as a bacterial infection? I don't believe he has ever swallowed anything "bad", but I wonder if chronic mouthslime/low-grade mouthrot is contributing? You guys are so helpful!!
