what about using those little round ant poison things??? (can't think of what to call them!)they're s'posedly safe way to put ant poison out cuz the poison is inside the little round ant motel thingy ... i also remember my mom using this gel sort of stuff too ... she'd put little dabs of it on wax paper on the kitchen counters at night (when us kids were sfely in bed) + remove them in the morning ....

another idea, don't know if it applies to this kind of ant or not ... hubby + i had to get rid of some major ant colonies outside, once we did, our problems went away ... but, could be diff. than your kind of pests ...

*mint* s'posedly discourages ants ... mebbe that's why there's a huge patch of mint planted outside our kitchen window??? it was there when we got here ... with that thought, might be beneficial to do a web search on it ...
