Itty bitty red ants that infest everything? They're everywhere here---doesn't matter how clean your house is etc. because they'll find something to munch on like the glue in bookbindings! I have to keep cereal, crackers, cookies, etc. etc. in the fridge to keep the ants out. I have the same problem with the reptile enclosures. Okay, wait, I don't think they get in Freckles' but then again he's a Tokay gecko and nothin' messes with those LOL He probably eats them! And, surprisingly, they've not invaded the cricket tank.

Gina, in my house there's no true "trail" to follow. Would that there were!

I have used the ant traps and they DO help but not as well during the spring and summer. I think during the heat months they are looking for moisture. I did watch a professional using these traps when I let him in to treat the nbr's house. He opened them up and would get a bit on a knife. He took off lightswitch & plug outlet covers and spread a bit of the stuff on the wires. The population at her house decreased for a while but she hasn't gotten rid of them completely either.

If anyone has a way of getting rid of them once and for all, I'd like to know about it ;o) I've never found a sugar ant mound so I don't know if we're talking about the same kind of ant. Monday, Ben went to get out a little flashlight that was in a case. Inside the case was a queen sugar ant (not anymore! bwahaha)and hundreds of eggs!! (again, not anymore!). That took care of some of them but I'm sure there are more places like it. Probably in the spines of all the books in the built-in bookcase where this case was sitting. *sigh* According to the pest control folks here they live in the walls and travel on the wires.
