Firstly, I had a carpet stapled to her wooden
shelf, tore it off and lo and behold about 20
little tiny RED ants...I soaked the board in hot
water and mild soap...other than warping the board
ants were off that. Of course Spazzy will not lay
on a board without something on it... I got dirty looks
for about an hour until I took a hand towel and
laid it on the board, now she is happy. Then I took everything
out of the enclousure including a piece of lanolium
that seemed to be something they liked to hide under
so that's gone now, I also took all her wood
and soaked that...at the moment they are under control
if they come back I am going to light a bon fire
around her cage...that'll fix em...Anyway
thanks all for your input I did buy some
combat ant traps and laid them behind her
"pool" she has a litter box filled with water
which seems to be a great place to drown the little
things...that's how I found all this out I had tons of little
red things floating in it. They seem to linger in
holes in logs and such and perhaps lay eggs,
alot came out when I soaked them. I soaked her earlier and
a few came off her.... that's not comforting
but she seems fine. Head bobs to all.
K~ and Spazzy
