I was in the local Petsmart in Rocky Mount, NC, and think God they don't
sell iguanas. They do have Water Dragons, and not the best kept, really terrible.
Three in the tank, one pretty green, looked decent, one dark brown, ribs showing, on the verge of death, eyes closed, horrible!!
Other one was brownish green, not too healthy looking. They were on some type of wet wood shavings with shallow water dish that
was dirty. The UVB bulb is never on when I go in there(I turn it on everytime), the heat bulbs are all thats on, they probably forget!
The outside says very high humidity to keep, but the humidity gauge in the tank reads 35%, kinda hypocritical, don't you think?
Makes me sick, these stores shouldn't be allowed to sell these at all!
Also, saw a book they sell in there....Green Iguanas...Getting started! Read a little, suggested feeding crickets to juvenille iguanas as a staple, also Spinach and Romaine Lettuce!
Book had terrible info---! An example of things that kill iguanas, misinformed people, going by this book as a guide.
It would be nice if they would take these books off the shelf!
