Are iguanas bad pets?

I have read a lot of info about iguanas, including your posts, and it just seems that iguanas are very hard to take care of. You have to worry about f igs becoming egg bound and worry about preventing MBD and calcium defenciency, etc. Is all this trouble really worth it? Are igs more work than say a dog or cat? I was thinking about getting an iguana, but now I am confused. Please help.
