...it's like being in a neo-nazi rally and ask if Hitler was a bad guy, ah ah ah!.... lol!
(i'm just kidding with ya, don't worry) ;)
-iguanas are wild animals.
-wild animals require specific care in order to keep the animal right in a domestic enviroment.
-like bob says, they can be angels, or they can make your life miserable, and bloody.
-if successfully kept, they are among the most rewarding animals in the world.
-reptiles don't play fetch with you, don't pick up the newspaper, are not warm, and do not give UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, that dogs are proven to give so.
-therefore, if you want that kinda pet, get a dog/cat/ferret.
-iguanas can be great pets, and intersting.
-like with all other wild animals, you need love, passion for the "hobby", and care. (and yes, $$$!)
so is the ig a good pet?
it all depends on the owner. All pets depend on the owners.
dogs can be a menace to society if brought up violently, since they can attack humans, and kill them (in France, pit-bulls are abolished). or they can all be "Scooby-Doo" like if brought up with love and care.
same goes for cats, igs, monitors, ferrets, etc.
b/w a 1-10 score, i give iguanas a 7.5, which is good. (and i'm an iguana freak, as you can see from my name! :)
if u start on the right foot, the chores will be so "automatic" to you, you won't even feel the weight of all the cleaning and caring, and taming. what matters is that you and the ig are happy.
Good Luck, and if you got more q's, you're welcome to post 'em!
