Great discussion you two. Enjoyed reading it. I agree with the very first thing being education of the public. If more people knew what they were getting into they wouldn't buy igs. If less people bought them and the demand was low, pet stores wouldn't carry them (or as many). This would result in less rescues. Captive breeders could ask for more money for quality animals. However, the captive breeding has a double edged sword. Like with everything, where there starts to be more money involved, more people would start breeding igs to sell. Same people who do backyard breeding of dogs for extra cash and could care less the quality of their dogs as long as they can get money for them. So then we're back to education.
Never seems like anything is ever black or white, just 20 million shades of gray.
