Hi
A while ago my IG broke her left back leg(she is 1yr old). We were told to put her in a small tank and restrict her movement. We did so. She also had the Calcimum defencey that we are presently treating. The problem is two fold.Recently we had her at the Vet because she was rather large in the belly and she was not "pooping" They vet handled her for about 1 min squeezing her belly and she went right there. Most of it was white but there was alot. The vet told us that there was stil some empacting left inside and they would try to get her to pass it. After three days the Vet could not get it out. They wanted to try a $250 treatmet but I could not afford it considering I had already amassed 200 in her treatment so far. I told the Vet I would take her home and try and get her to pass the blockage. The vet said it was in her track but they could not get it out despite several trys tubing her. I don't know what to do. I have tried for the past 3 days to get her to go but she won't. I've fed her prunes(baby food) and still nothing. She is getting fatter again in the belly and i'm really thinking hard about putting her down because on top of all of this she REFUSES to move her back two legs and tail. she drags herself around the bowl with her two front legs but she will not try and walk with the hind ones. If you pick her up and tickle the back ones she will move then. If you slightly pull one she will pull back. So I know she has movement in them. Its been a very long road. This is the third time she has been to the vet and I (quite honestly) I can afford much more. I said eariler that i would be willing to give her to someone to treat and get back to health. I live in the NJ area and would do what ever possible to aid in her treatment. If anyone can help please let me know. I have really grown attached to her but i can't stand to see her drag herself around the cage. I also am at my wits end with the pooping thing. I would rather give her up then to put her down. I was also wondering if the two things were related. She broke her leg in a fall from her other cage. She had brittle bones because she refused to eat anything but Romain Lett. She is now eating better but now this. The Dr. said her legs is healed. Please help... any Q's please email me
