.... I am not really an Iguana person. Prefer Venomous. Howsomever, A while back my daughter brought home this really pittiful Green Iguana that was given to her. It was seriously undernourished, it's tali had been broken, but was mostly grown out, and was generally in foul shape. It came complete with a fish tank that was much too small. Not knowing what else to do, we fed it.

Diet: Mostly collard, mustard, and turnip greens. Also gets a little oat meal, grapes, spagetti, melon, etc. Also gets 1/2 hard boiled egg once a week as a treat.

As it's quarters was too small, we began letting it out in the house. Got to be a habit, and now it has taken over the place. It's favorite sleeping quarters being in my closet.

It's ok. It also has a favorite place to take a crap - much to my astonishment - and is easy to clean up after.

In short, it is now fat and healthy and part of the family, but I KNOW we are giving it too much slack. This thing is gonna get BIG. It is only about 2' now.

We try and handle it every day to get it used to attention, but every time it is approched, it gives a threat geature - puffing up and whipping it's tail. It threatens to bite, but never does. It has claws like simitars and we haven't trimed then, thinking it would simply add more stress to an animal that had seen enough abuse.

We have grown fond of this green monster, but sometimes it makes me really appreciate a nice Rattlesnake.

Looking for advice.

Thanks,

filthy
