Once again......welcome to the forum. This is by far the best place you can come to for answers......and the people here, most of which know more than me, are some of the friendliest folks out there! There is not one person who comes here often, that doesn't care about all of our igs the same way. This forum has for me been the best place for resources on these animals. I hope you feel comfy with us, and stop by regularly. An iguana can be a great pet for the right type of people!

Don't quote me on this until you find out for certain, but I believe the "Gro-Lux" is only good for plants. The only ones I have heard of that actually are adequate in providing the correct amounts of UVB are the ones I listed in the above post............but that's not to say I'm never wrong! lol

While your ig may look happy as hell sitting on the window sill, that actually doesn't provide much more than a good heat basking spot. Unfortunately, it doesn't take much to filter out almost all of the right stuff from the sun. The main reason that the sun is so important for an iguana, is that the sun provides vitamin D3. I'm going to direct you to my own website that has what I hope is a pretty good care section.......and what I don't have........I usually have links to.

My iguanas also love spaghetti! I would actually reccomend, however, that you gave it to your ig without any extras. Again, I can't say for certain, but I don't think any type of oils, and I don't know enough about garlic, except that I've never heard of anything good or bad about it! usually anything I don't know about for sure.......I try to avoid! My website also has some good diet info.......and good links!

Trimming the nails.........you can take off as much as you can without touching the quick. It will make everybody happy in the end! Sometimes I have actually gone for a whole week without getting any new scratches! "AMAZING!" I have nail trimming info on my site, and good links!

You can determine the sex of your iguana in several ways! I will just point you to my website, again!
