Ive got 2 adult igs...haven't had the need to vitamin supplement....but used Minerall, Rep-Cal, & Nekton-Rep in past. For calcium supplements currently using Tums Ultra (calcium carbonate -phosphorous free) and/or Citrical (calcium citrate..best absorbability, more expensive) for my baby beardies, turtles and tortoise (Donatello is new!)

When choosing your calcium supplement ...if its a human one (cheaper than reptile supplements) make sure its:
1) phosphorus free (calcium carbonate;limestone is the cheapest and most available form with the highest elemental calcium)
2) NOT Dolomite; bonemeal (animal protein and contain lead)
3) Main ingredient is NOT calcium phosphate
4) Oyster shell calcium (animal protein and lead)

Vitamin D....hmmm I don't think I wanna go there...but you know its essential for calcium to be absorbed....lots of controversies about toxicity & D Ive researched it imho I think its a bunch of bs (waiting for hate mail on this one!)

The calcium lactates and gluconates have lower absorbability but they're ok for supplementing your igs already calcium rich diet.

I haven't done much lookin into vitamins....I only supplement vitamins & calcium if 1. vet recommends it 2. babies, juvie reptiles (essential) 3. gravid 4. supplement with thiamine if feeding alot of frozen...

Have I confused ya X....lol
Gina
