Importers and ignorant breeders/owners here continue to feed iguanas animal protein,usually they are the first ones crying foul when the iguana they bred/own is diagnosed with kidney failure. Iguanas are foliovores/herbivores from hatchling to adult. Granted protein is very important for a baby iguana...but best if plant protein.In the wild bugs are eaten by iguanas not out of necessity but incidentally.
