:Victoria,
You have quite a challenge because there is not a lot of green snakes in the hobby unless you like venemous snakes. The Red-tailed Green Rat is a potentially aggressive and difficult to care for snake. That is because its difficult to provide perfect conditions for them. The Rough Green Snake is little but easy to care for. A 20 gallon tank with branches and fake plants or live would do and they eat crickets and other bugs. I personally like Green Tree Pythons. They start off red or fluorescent yellow but turn green within 6-12 months. They like to coil around there perch and they don't move around much so you wont need a large cage. They like high humidity and some heat. They eat well on rodents but because they don't move around much they don't need to eat much. To clean the cage you just remove the perch and the snake stays attached. Don't get bit though because they have an awesome set of teeth. Mine have proven to be easy to care for. I injected water in the frozen fuzzies that I fed the neonates per advice to keep them well hydrated. Otherwise they are clean and neat and easy to care for. You can build elaborate cages with waterfalls, orchids, etc. for them. When guests come over they will comment on the beautiful cage and may not see a snake. Then you put a dead rat in via tongs and watch people jump. LOL
