When I wrote the Ratsnake post I thought would be the first snake for both you and your fiance. After reading some of your posts over here I get the impression you have a lot more experience than that.

Regardless, I'd still avoid Rough Greensnakes in favor of Elaphe frenata, Elaphe prasina, or Rhino Ratsnakes.
