I have been using that exact recipe for a couple years with 1:1 water and vinegar and never had mold.
By the way this recipe works exceptionally well for D. Hydei.

:Ok I have just made a batch of FF medium based on this recipe:
:1 cup of powdered sugar
:8 cups potato flakes
:1/2-1 cups of brewers yeast
:active yeast on top of course

:Ok here is the question, will 1/2 water 1/2 vinager be as good as 4 Teaspoons Methyl Paraben?

:I have not had a problem with mold, with Carolina medium, and am now testing the above medium. I just wondered what results others have had.
