Cool, I just bought my first hydei culture, and plan to start more as soon as this starts producing. I hope to then be able to cut back on the smaller ff's.

:I have been using that exact recipe for a couple years with 1:1 water and vinegar and never had mold.
:By the way this recipe works exceptionally well for D. Hydei.

::Ok I have just made a batch of FF medium based on this recipe:
::1 cup of powdered sugar
::8 cups potato flakes
::1/2-1 cups of brewers yeast
::active yeast on top of course

::Ok here is the question, will 1/2 water 1/2 vinager be as good as 4 Teaspoons Methyl Paraben?

::I have not had a problem with mold, with Carolina medium, and am now testing the above medium. I just wondered what results others have had.
