Besides the fact that Midwest's Standard 40 inch hooks only cost $28 -- obviously, the shafts are the same as golf club shafts, which are made to bend. Of course they have limitations, but there is absolutely nothing that I use them for that is beyond their capability. They are not made for turning over heavy debris or ripping stumps open. Personally, I just use them for hooking snakes in and out of their cages, and they work great for that.
If you can't tell what their limits are just by holding one in your hand, well......I won't go there. And you say they're heavy? 2 words - Gold's Gym.
What good does it do to say, "Their $70 hook is better than your $28 hook." I should hope it would be.
