Besides the fact that Midwest's Standard 40 inch hooks only cost $28 -- obviously, the shafts are the same as golf club shafts, which are made to bend. Of course they have limitations, but there is absolutely nothing that I use them for that is beyond their capability. They are not made for turning over heavy debris or ripping stumps open. Personally, I just use them for hooking snakes in and out of their cages, and they work great for that.
: If you can't tell what their limits are just by holding one in your hand, well......I won't go there. And you say they're heavy? 2 words - Gold's Gym.
: What good does it do to say, "Their $70 hook is better than your $28 hook." I should hope it would be.
