Hooking/Tailing a Mamba

Oh, you mean like this ?

Mardi is the currently the number one importer of Black Mamba's in the U.S., and he uses Midwest hooks almost exclusively. (pers. comm.) I don't doubt that a titanium hook would be stiffer and lighter, but you can't just sweep the most widely used hook in the U.S. under the carpet and say it "sucks". A Rolls Royce is a great car, but a Nissan Altima will get you there just fine.

Is $40 the cost of a standard 40 inch Fuhrman/Furmont (we seem to have mixed spellings of this company's name) hook?
