so do you expect us to give 2 year warranties!!??? The reason it is short is because we can't loose money because somebody else didn't take care of their animals right! Our store is very clean and all of the animals (especially the reptiles) are taken care of. If somebody buys at least the neccesities (and you won't believe how many people won't but what they NEED) then we'll give them an extra week or so. Also, if it is brought to the vets and the vet checks for parasites or does blood work and something comes up wrong, we will replace it. And if an animal is carrying herpes and it shows up 5 years later, why should we replace it? Who knows where it came from?
: It can take weeks, months, or even years for a problem to show up. Pet stores give 1 to 7 day warranties, so that they won't lose money. Basically the animal is a liability, and they feel the animal buying public will be stupid enough to think that a few day warramty is sufficient. Money is priority number one. Tortoises can carry viruses such as herpes for years before symptoms surface. If you don't like the look of the store, I would suggest not buying the animal. Reptiles are masters of concealing health problems, a warranty short of two weeks is a total joke.
