: Tortoises are nothing for Kids (and especiall not below 10 years of age!
i don't think so. age is nothing, mature is everything.
: 90% of all Torts have salmonella, which doesnt harm themselfs!
wrong again! average -2 out of a hundred wild caught kleinmanni tortoises have salmonella.
but if one of your childs touches them and then puts his finger in his mouth!!! fairly high risk!
i agree on this one. always wash hands after handling even if tortoise has no disease.
: Tortoises are also very easily stressed, which means they dont want to be touched or disturbed in other ways!
not all species are like that... i know for a fact, that my kleins like to be handled, and enjoy being taken outside.
: They ARE NO TOYS!
DUH!!! anything living is not a toy! no need to write that down!
: And 4inch is nothing for a (even very small tort!) to climb over,
your IQ must be very low! i don't know if you can understand this but she said 4 feet not 4 inches.
: one of my Greeks (CB99) managed to climb over a 12inch wall without any problems!
good for you, but this wall is 4 times bigger.
: Get them a rabbit or hamster, but pelase no tortoise, it will either harm your childs or the poor animal!
She can get them what ever they want under one circumstance.... the mother and the children are willing to take proper care of it.
: and remember: All Tortoise species are endangered!!!!
LMAO!!!! you are totaly wrong! i don't think all tortoise species are endangered!!!
