Hi Jaf,

Carinata is a large snake, but despite it's nastiness, it still falls slightly short of the record. They get up to 240cm according to Schulz ('96). I believe they get over 7 ft. fairly commonly, as do moellendorffi.

BTW, their reputation for being the stinkiest doesn't hold much water, as some of the other Asian Elaphe are extremely smelly too. I picked up a brumating bimaculata as I was cleaning it's water, and it skunked me. Man that was nasty. I almost barfed, and it still smells an hour later. Gotta love those Elaphe :0) TC.
