What I think is, I'd like to see a ratsnake that was over nine feet, let alone ten ft. I haven't heard anything like this about carinata, but I suppose it's possible. There's a lot to learn about the Asian ratsnakes. Certainly, not everything is known, even about how many species there are. New forms are being found, and it might be that a larger snake than a nine-footer will be found. The only thing is that carinata is not much like the other ratsnakes. It wouldn't be quite the same anyway, to see a really big one, but it would be impressive in it's own right. Carinata will probably be reclassified in the not too distant future. Many of the Asians have already been changed to a different genus. We'll see.
PS: a ten-footer would be larger than any U. S. snake. I think the Central American rat, Spilotes, gets bigger than ten ft. though.
