: Maybe I'll do some more investigation on what I had seen on carinata... try to find some references I can quote. LOL.
: As for Spilotes, I have a nice male that is well over 7 feet. I am looking forward to seeing how big that boy will get. I am completely enamored with huge colubrids, and I am with you all the way-- a 10 foot rat snake or an colubrid for that matter would be a sight to see, and a real joy to tangle with. :)
: Incidently, I also was given a yellow rat that is close to seven feet-- a real monster. I need to get some pics of this guy to post here. I haven't seen a lot of large adult yellow rats. I also have a pair of black rats that are still young that I have some hopes for.

Ya, I think the yellows can get over 7 feet. The biggest wild rat I've seen was a black rat, well over six feet that could eat rabbits and squirrels. Probabably the largest in captivity I've seen was a bull or gopher, don't remember which. It was probably close to seven feet, and even more impressive because it was so massive.
