Many ratsnakes make great pets, but there are some that are easier to care for than the Japanese rats. Make sure you check for parasites. Terry.

Yeah, we're U.S. soldiers stationed over here. His kids said they saw a lot out there. His wife ended up letting it go because they didn't know how to take care of it and it didn't move most of the day yesterday. I can get a fecal done real cheap (like $2) from the vet on post here, so if I find one, I'll be sure to have it checked. I know they'll eat rats, but I don't know how many of them are around, do they also eat lizards, because there are lots of them here, mostly skinks that I've seen. Thanks.

Oh yeah, the kids saw a yellowish snake that got away, too, could it be an albino?
