The albino population of Iwakuni, was made a national treasure, which protects them I'm sure. But this population is supposedly all leucistic also. There are albino snakes in other places in Japan. Since mine is a yellow albino, I'm sure it's parentage isn't from the Iwakuni stock. Since I looked it up, I realize that Rob's snakes couldn't have come from the Iwakuni stock either. I'll try to attach a link to an article that was posted earlier this summer that explains what I think you were referring to. Thanks, TC.
: I agree with Terry but with one question. Aren't the albino japanese rats protected in japan? I thought they were some kind of national symbol or something to that affect I hnow I hemember seing a while back where they were endangered then they started breeding them in a facility but it was illegal for them to sell or harm them and they were haveing trouble taking care of all of them.
