Could you please count and report) the number of scale rows on him on his body about 1/3inch in front of his vent? Don't count the ventral scale. (This could tell us that it was NOT a rat snake or NOT a racer because the number varies betwixt those genera.) If it is either one of those genera, the number should be an odd one.
