Patrick, I posted on here to have an intelligent commentary with someone who KNOWS what I am talking about in confronting this issue. You just seem to want to correct english and make sure I type out HYPOMELANISTIC EVERGLADES RATSNAKE every time I'm referring to a HYPO glades...which everyone on this forum understands. Yes, you give startling verbatim about the definition of HYPO. But you have not seen one, never mind bred them and had the chance to work with them. If I put a hatchling in front of you I dare say you could not identify it to species. Now as I understand that, you have no first hand knowledge of the facts.Did you read about hypomelanism? Did you read Dr. Bechtels'book? Do you feel confident in YOUR opinions(not the ones you've read about as you have no first hand experience)on the subject? Have you seen the eyes of this animal in question? How do you KNOW there is melanin in there?
I started this by trying to solicit opinions on the fact that breeders are calling this snake by different names--the same morph. As a scientist I think not only limiting it to a single classification but correctly "re-naming" it is in order. I am not the type to go along with what other people print/read/say as you can see. Patrick, if you've really carried this arguement this far without realizing WHAT I am talking about I hope you get to see what it is BEFORE becoming a expert on the subject,Jeff
