:Patrick, I posted on here to have an intelligent commentary with someone who KNOWS what I am talking about in confronting this issue. You just seem to want to correct english and make sure I type out HYPOMELANISTIC EVERGLADES RATSNAKE every time I'm referring to a HYPO glades...which everyone on this forum understands.

Details of the appearance of hypomelanistic Everglades rat snakes hasn't seemed to be the issue at hand in your previous posts. Instead, you seemed to be worried by terminology (i.e., wanting `hypomelanistic' to refer only to a single genetic trait, and so forth). As a result, terminology seemed to be the important thing for me to worry about... and clear English usage is of obvious significance in any discussion of terminology (and my worries about unclear English extend far beyond the substitution of `hypo' for `hypomelanistic', an issue to which I only paid any attention because you were using `hypo' as the name of a gene, which simply doesn't make sense by my understanding of the word, and which seemed to be a use of `hypo' that was being distinguished from the usage of `hypomelanistic'). *shrug*

: Yes, you give startling verbatim about the definition of HYPO.

Funny you should say that, given that my definition of `hypomelanistic' and yours clearly disagree...

Patrick Alexander
