Hi Jeremy;
Based on your pictures you posted I'm sure your little guy could easily woof down a couple pinkies a week. My yearlings are now taking about 3 fuzzies/hoppers a feeding, don't take it personal if for some strange reason your snake just goes off his food. Mine do it ALL the time, I find it helps if you cool them down for a while, if your snake is passing his food through his system THAT quick you might have it too warm for him. I find these guys really don't need any extra heat, they thrive @ room temerature.
You think THESE guys have a fast metabolism?? Just try Indigos if ya want mega-crappers that STINK to high heaven!!!!
Russians have to be the nicest Rats barnone!!! Inquisitive, diurnal, flashy looking & actually seem to enjoy being on your shoulders. I'm sure you'll enjoy this little guy. They go great in pairs as well, they seem to be natural 'community' snakes I house 6 of them together.
You might want to check with Terry Cox here in the forum for any specific questions, I've only kept Russians for the past 2 years & got some of my breeding stock from Terry. He's been into them longer than anyone else in here I think.
Good luck with the little guy!!
Cheers
Dean
