trinket snake???

Does anyone know anything of the trinket snake? My son wants a snake very much, and I'm afraid of them. Our local pet store owner recommended a trinket snake, but I can't find out much about them. Does anyone have one, or know anything about them? I have heard conflicting stories about the length of them. Some say no more than 2 feet and some say 3-5 feet. Can anyone help with my problem. Also, is there any way I can get over my fear of snakes, I'm gonna have to live with this thing. Thank you in advance. Michelle Leister
