Fire Ants, the Afganni's of the South

I haven't seen this subject anywhere, so here goes..I think the fire ant is one of God's plagues on mankind..The snakes we love on this forum are all warm weather and southern animals..I believe any ground dwelling animals suffer immensely from these *^%$*! things..I've noticed a big drop in reptiles of all species in the wild since the FA invaded, as well as birds and mammals in the wild..Does anyone else share this observation?? I don't think that developers or habitat destruction have as much impact as this scourge on the earth..I know a lot of you guys up north are thinking I'm crazy, but those of you who live in the south know what I am talking about...Those of you who live or visit the south regularly remember the last time you saw wild quail in any number??Anybody else care to chime in on this??
