What about the whole west side of the mountains from South of the border up to Riverside? I know of a breeding population of rubers doing very well in tiny lots of land in the middle of El Cajon. They do suprisingly well amidst developement. Not to say habitat destruction is a good thing-- but if habitat destruction is what is threatening ruber populations, then keeping folks from collecting them isn't going to save squat.
Your opinion matters as much as mine does.
