I don't know if it is the same where you were looking, but where i live chicken snakes are Yellow Rats and the intergrade rats (yellow and Black rat cross). These are "chicken snakes" in NC & SC. : I am going back to this piece of land in a couple of months probably. One of my dad's coworkers lives on it and says he's seen copperheads, timber rattlers, bull snakes, and chicken snakes (what exactly are these, great plains rats?). It's getting late, and I think I'm rambling. That's about it.
