He weighed in at 63 lbs. with the damp sheet, rubbermaid container, and the several feet of duct tape that wrapped it up. I figured it would be tough to carry something of that weight but it was easy. Maybe he's 30 lbs. and Airborne Express was just over-charging the seller?

Anyway, he's an awesome animal. The biggest darned turtle I've ever dealt with. When I finally got all of the tape off and popped it open I was expecting the worst. But he was totally calm and relaxed. He only got a little wiggly when I picked him up and set him in the pond. Now he seems completely laid back. I put two dozen 4 inch shiners in with him and a few large earth worms. He didn't react to the worms as they sank around his head. It had only been about 2 hours since he went into the pond so maybe he'll need some time to adjust.

He is supposed to have a red tint but he looks like the avg. alligator snapper to me. I see a little pink tint on a small % of his shell but nothing mind blowing by any stretch.

Now I've got to get some other fish species ordered from the hatchery and see if we can get this big boy eating.

Kevin
