Why don't we write up a law that will force people to live up to the responsiblity of taking correct care of their pets?
(And ENFORCEMENT would help) A law that would make it legal for rescue organizations to take fines, and make mandatory classes on pet care...like they do in driving school.
If we did not make it so darn easy for people to get rid of their pets, maybe they would not be so quick to throw them away. You know, like I'm trying to teach my kids...responsiblity for one's own actions.
If ya want some new laws on the books, there's my suggestion. It makes me mad, that some people will blame breeders...the blame is obviously on the people who fail to correctly care for their pets. When I got an ig, I found out what it took to take care of her.
If people go so far as to demand that a rescue group come & get their animal....I believe those types of people should be held accountable. Make them pay! Make them spend a week or two at the reptile rescue group, working on saving these guys.
It's called taking responsibility for your own action. (have I said that already?) MAINLY....I don't want to lose any valuable friends here at this forum. I hate it when things get so stirred up.
Now I'm all stirred up, too...this has put a damper on the day, know what I mean? Insert Rodney King quote here.................
