Please see my posting down a little ways. Unfortunately, people are already just "dumping" their reptiles anywhere they can. When dumped outside, they die. Plain and simple. That's what would happen if we didn't have rescue groups and/or the laws you suggest. We only see the unwanted reptiles where the owner took some effort to find US (rescue group). Please understand, we aren't pointing our finger SOLEY at the breeders, its the pet stores, wholesalers, irresponsible owners. How many of you are taking the time PERSONALLY to try and solve or reduce the problem of iguana abuse? Step up to the plate folks. There's room for everyone. How many of you are going to your local schools or community events and "educating" the public? Come on down and join us. There's room for more. Take a PROactive stance, not just a reactive stance on the WHOLE issue. You know the old saying "Put your money where your mouth is"? I have other interests, other then iguanas, that unfortunately, are sitting on the back burner right now. Why? Because I feel this strongly about what I/we are doing. Ok....I'm getting tired of this and I'm sure everyone else is. Take a moment tonight and think "What can I do to improve the situation?". I'll bet you can come up with something.
