ok Ive read that a high uric acid level is a result of being fed a high purine diet (which both my igs seem to be getting) and/or animal protein in diet (which neither have except Feo once no thanks to my sweet rep vet!). So on to the purine diet ? Did you know that high purine foods include legumes? beans(green, black, kidney, garbanzo, anykind o beans) and peas? best if NOT mixed with salad but fed separately as I have started to do over a month ago but it seems Im too late in Juanas case. So Im on the right path anyway...finding out how water is sooo very important for igs and to add baking soda to water to keep high alkaline, less acid in diet. also finding out more about Vitamin C and its role in raising uric acid levels...so bare with me...thought you might find it interesting. There are a ton of sites on the web..about uric acid in people not much on reptiles thus far!I don't want Juana or Feo to get kidney disease I would just die!
Gina...going where no (wo)man has ever gone before....oh brother!lol
