Hey people,
I was just reading some of these posts and got to thinking.
This forum means a lot to some of us, that definately includes me.
I sit here at night reading the posts...I laugh out loud...I cry (Grown men do cry when it comes to the children and pets-in my case they're one and the same, just one of my kids has 4 legs, a tail and is mean as hell) to the point I have to wipe ears from my cheeks. My Daughter has come in and said "Whats wrong daddy?"
and I will read her the post I just read about someones Ig dying or a very sick Ig. She looks at me and says "That's sad. Our iguana's going to live a long time right?" BTW she's 6."Yeah, baby...your kids will get to play with Ozzy."
Anyway...the stories posted here not only give me advice, but they keep me entertained and give me hope as well.
I think us Iguana owners tend to be more attached to our pets than do dog or cat people(Had more than my share of dogs) because it takes a lot more TLC to keep em fit and healthy.The first and last thing I do each day is check on my little baby up on his post(well, not so little now) to make sure he's ok.
Another thing...I cant see how someone can look at one of these guys and say "Yuck".. I see nothing but natural beauty. For instance, I ran into a girl I went to school with in the 80s. we made dinner and movie plans, nothing fancy, just typical first date kind of thing, with one exception. Back to my house to meet my Iguana, followed by a trip to the best reptile shop in Nashville. I thought it was cool, but then again I think snakes are cool (have a ball python too). As it turns out, she's one of those cat people, you know the type(stupid cats). She doesnt care for anything cold blooded, so our first date was also our last date. And she is gorgeous, but if she doesnt like Ozzy I dont need her.

Its good to know that there are others like me, just head over heels in love with their Igs. My family can rest assured that it's normal and I don't have some kind of weird fetish.
