One of my Igs, a baby (about 3in SVL) will run to the corner of its tank when it wants out. (Pretty much anytime it sees me)
Lately I've noticed that it will wag its tail when I get him (or her?) out. I've never seen this in an Iguana before. Is it just something that he does
sometimes, or does it mean something? I notice it more the first time he gets out for the day, but have seen it later on too. (He is sometimes out a few times a day)
Its very cute, and while I think it would be nice to think he was wagging his tail cause he's happy, I doubt that's what it is. But I'm not an expert. I was wondering if any of you
had seen this in your Iguanas. He did have a tramatic "childhood" he was shipped to the petstore I worked at just before Christmas in a plastic bag with 5 other Igs. Sadly he's the only one that made it.
They all appeared DOA, but I was able to bring 5 back after warming them back up. They needed force fed, and acted like they may have been brain damaged. (They would sometimes walk crooked, and step very high,
like they were trying to climb something that wasn't there) Its hard to explain. I noticed this behavior more after something stressful, like feeding them. My baby is doing very well now, and enjoys being out
with me. If you have any ideas about the tail wagging, let me know. I have not noticed any other strange things since I've had him (her?).
Thanks,
Blkwido
