I finally settled on the name Tempest for my rescue Ig. Do females get spikes on their nose? Tempest has a couple, I have no idea if its a boy or a girl.
Anyhow, its day 4, and the new enclosure is almost done. Its still just a temporary one, but its quick, not that expensive (har har, its costing me enough!), and it'll do until I get a more permanent one built. My question is, should I move Tempest in, in the morning, when she has all day to explore it and settle in, or the evening, when she will settle down in a couple of hours and go to sleep? I will be finished tonight, will set up the heating and UVB lamps to test the temperature etc. so I'd like to have her in it tomorrow.
Also, Tempest is still not eating. I'm putting a nice fresh salad in every morning, consisting of greens (escarole, endive etc.), squash, carrot, snow peas and apple, with whatever else a roommate happens to be eating that day (ie. banana, grapes, whatever I can steal the end from LOL ). So far, no signs of it being eaten. I took Tempest out today on my arm, and made her stay, and tried to coax her to eat. She was too busy struggling and hissing for most of it, but when she did settle down I tickled her lips with a bit of squash. She turned her head to hiss, and "accidentally" closed it on the squash, and then ate that. She then did the same with some peas, and some carrot, and a little bit of apple, but thats all I could get. I figured she was getting a little too stressed, so I let her calm down and put her back in her cage, with the rest of her salad. Any suggestions?
Sorry its a small book again :P Lots to learn! Lots to worry about!
