He definately does not have an optimal setup, although I am almost done his new enclosure which will be vastly better. The main reason I'm worried, is he is already quite lean, I'm hoping he at least picks at stuff soon. Absolutely, this poor guy is scared to death, I don't think he's been treated very well.
He does have a hide spot, plus the end of the tank with food and water in it is covered by a towel. It looks like he has been drinking at least. In his new enclosure, he will definately have multiple water sources. I'm not familiar with drip things, but there's a reptile show tomorrow nearby I'm going to, so hopefully I can pick some up there, or see them and get one at a store.
I'm not sure how I'm going to get him in to his new enclosure, he's already feeling better and is that much more difficult to deal with. I've worked with lab rats before, and in all honesty I've been basically treating him like a rat, with a longer tail and more teeth, in order to handle him. So far thats worked pretty well - control the front legs, support the chest, control the back legs across the pelvis and secure the tail under my elbow. Guess I'll just have to get him somehow, though I think I'll put on some gloves! I just hate to upset him more than he already is :( Even if it is for a better thing!
