Bearded dragons are from Australia and need less humid conditions. It really depends on how humid your room is. If you keep him in an enclosure with some good heating/lighting and a small water dish, your humidity level may be fine. You would have to check. A horse trough thing may be okay...can't really picture it, but they don't get as large as igs do and don't need as much climbing space. I think my cage is 4ft long x 2ftx2ft (around there). Here is a photo. They are fine in a large aquarium with a lot of ground space and may be fine in the trough....although they do enjoy seeing out and watching things. Here you can see he has a varied terrain. I filled a sweater box with alfalfa pellets, although now I'm trying horse bran in it. The other area is papertowels/newspaper, rocks, and branches, and a hidey hut. You can see him in the hidey hut. Hopefully you can tell how big he is compared to the other items in the cage.
