I can understand not liking a particular animal. Kinda. But I have owned tarantulas for years and have not found anything nicer and easier to take care of. I feel sorry for you if your dislike for spiders is that bad. I can tell you from experience, spiders are HARMLESS. Only a few can hurt ya and they are even few and far between. Spiders possess a special place in the eco-system and help keep the fly/bug population to a minimum, believe it or not. Just imagine what going outdoors would be like if spiders did not exist. Also, I am a bit offended that you think people who like spiders need a rubber room. Thats a bit much. We are among the few who truly understand and appreciate this misunderstood and illogically feared creature. In my opinion, that tarantula that jiffypop posted is absolutely dropdead gorgeous and any avid arachn-er would be proud to have.
