In Reply to: OT, but an interesting spider photo on Bug\'s enclosure.... posted by srjohnt on September 02, 2002 at 19:41:58:
I think You people Who Like That..... THING are very sick and need a rubber room FAST!!!!! YUCK!!!! Coming from the opinion of an Arachniphobic, GGGGRRRRROOOOOSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I can put up with a LOT of creatures, But if you bring a spider the size of a pin head near me, I completely flip out! Never mind one THAT BIG!!! Things like that do NOT belong in the house! If they're outside, fine. But if they come into MY house, enter MY territory, They are on the bottom of my shoe!!! Period! Granted everyone likes different things. I'm sure people feel the same way about Igs that I feel about spiders but, give me a break! THAT is NOT!! beautiful!!!!!! ~shudders~ OK, I'm done ranting now. :)
:I don't have any recent photos of Bug, but I wanted to post something just to make sure I still could...
:This pic was taken when I walked into the bathroom (that's where Bug's enclosure is), looked down, and saw this wolf spider. It's the biggest one I've ever seen... Bug's enclosure is made of 2x2 lumber, so that will give you a reference point as to size. Remember, too, that we live in an old house in the country, and it's not exactly critter proof.
:We left this big girl alone since it looks like she could eat lots of other critters that we don't want. (It's OK, Mary likes spiders) I've seen her once since...
:Regards, JohnT
