ok i have a question also, i am feeding my ig the jen swofford diet. i used to feed him the mk salad, but he would just pick at it. he especially hated the alfalfa. i want to try and substitute a product made by 8 in 1 called dri greens. it is made of sun dried alfalfa, dried cabbage, dried celery, and dried red peppers. it is intended as a treat for small birds. i would use just about a quarter of a cup per week for his salad, along with a multivitamin and his calcium supplement. the reason i am opting for this product is that my iguana has developed some bad eating habits from his prvious owner who fed him almost nothing but iceberg lettuce and bok choi. he will not eat anything unless it is green and leafy now. he will starve himslef for days until i put greens down. i ahve really tried to break him of this, but he is really stubborn. the dri greens product i mentioned before is very green and when put on his food, it gives it all a very bright green color to it, which makes him more interested in his food. my question is, is this enough to supplement him with some extra protien? does he really need the alfalfa every day? should i try another form of alfalfa like a mini bale that i could find in a pet store? the problem with the alfalfa is that it is such a drab color it really makes him less interested in his food. is there any other sources of protien i should try? his diet currently has a Ca:P ratio of about 2.3:1. so even though the dri greens product contains celery and peppers which have little nutritional value, the overall diet is still very nutritious. this week his salad is collards, turnip greens, mustrard greens, endive, cilantro, butternut squash, red bell pepper, green beans, leeks, carrots, carrot tops, and various dried fruits. plus kiwi, white rice and lime for a treat. any suggestions would be great.

: I've made the MK salad. Spot kinda likes it but won't eat the alfalfa (sp?) pellets. I was wondering since I have this commercial diet pellets that he does like can I sub them? I think I read somewhere that I can but I don't remember where...
: thanks,
