Well how was I suppose to know it was a joke?
My guess is that its opposite from what the clerk told eyespy.
I have 1 year old water monitor, that the vet said may be a female, although he said he wasnt sure, but judging by the fact when he put a q-tip up it, no hemipenes emerge. But I asked the vet that it doesnt make it a female just cause nothing emerged, and he said, nope dont mean much.
Water Monitors dont show sex til 2-3 years old. They dont have feature characteristics. About 3 weeks ago I finally found out it was a male. The way you find out is by watching it goto the bathroom in its water and you will see two large hemipenes emerge. At first I thought the hemipenes were crap, cause it was black, unlike other reptiles which are pink.
Just thought I would throw that little knowledge of sexing in there just in case someone gets a water monitor.
