They are the second largest lizard next to the komodo dragon. They are known to reach legnths of 5 - 8 ft. Of course females are smaller.
I dont know much about malasia and reptiles. I have some pictures, none real recent...I just have to upload them to the net. I just been too lazy to upload.
Baby water monitors eat crikets and pinkies, and ground turkey. Mine is still a baby but eats adult mice(pre killed) and ground turkey. If you want to see an example of a water monitor, rent the movie "The freshman". They have on in the movie.
I'll try to get some pics uploaded this week.

: You almost convinced me...When all my hamsters are gone perhaps I can get a monitor...But I dont know where to buy one...Dont forget I live in Malaysia...
: You will kill me but...can you post a photo???I suppose I never saw a water monitor before!!Last year I bought a water dragon but he only eat crickets and it was very difficult for me to find crickets for him in Kuala Lumpur so I gave him back to the shop.
: In the petshop they sell lots of butterfly lizards...But I suppose they only eat crickets and worms also.
